Doha, January 07 (QNA) - Qatar Career Fair (QCF), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, will host its first Winter Career Camp for Qatari nationals later this month. Male and female preparatory school students are encouraged to participate, in order to benefit from a variety of interesting educational programmes and workshops, which aim to hone their talents and develop their personal skills. The winter camp will be held at Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) daily from 24 to 29 January, between 9am and 2pm. The camp is open to both boys and girls, with separate classes held for each group of students. It targets Qatari preparatory school students with the aim of engaging them in a unique experience that will provide a wide range of valuable practical skills and knowledge to help choose the right academic path that better suits their skills and capabilities in line with the vision of Qatar Foundation to support the growth and development of the country. During the one-week programme, students will take part in a series of stimulating career-oriented workshops that have been tailored to instill in them the basics of a strong career culture and help them discover their skills and talents. This will allow them to carefully choose their future career. The camp will also provide students with a great experience through which they will acquire multiple skills in an easy and entertaining manner. Abdulla Al-Mansoori, Director of Qatar Career Fair, said: "The launch of the first Winter Career Camp targeting Qatari preparatory school students follows on from Qatar Career Fairs endeavors to prepare a career-oriented Qatari youth, and builds on the Summer Career Camp for high schools students, started two years ago". "The camp comes as part of the new approach of Qatar Career Fair to target younger age groups starting from 13-years-old. This is due to the crucial importance of creating a strong career culture at an early age". "We encourage preparatory school students to benefit from the Winter Career Camp workshops and programmes, which will allow them to discover their talents and help them choose the appropriate academic path for their desired career," he added. The camp will give Qatari students the opportunity to visit leading organisations in Qatar, allowing them to gain first-hand insights into what they can expect in the world of employment and to plan their future academic endeavours at an early stage. All students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded participation certificates. To ensure participation, students are advised to register online by Tuesday 20 January 2015. In order to be eligible, Qatari students have to be in the preparatory stage of education (7th 9th Grade) and not above 15-years-old. The registration fee for the Winter Career Camp is QR500 and participants will have to obtain a letter of no objection from a parent or guardian. (QNA)
