Qatar Chamber to Discuss Private Sector Issues on Sidelines of General Assembly Meeting

Doha, May 03 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber is slated to hold its general assembly meeting on Wednesday amid expectations that it will be postponed to May 19 for the lack of required quorum of members who are eligible to vote. Discussions between Qatari businessmen and the Chamber's Board of Directors are expected to be held on the sidelines of the second meeting on May 19 to touch on issues and concerns of the Qatari private sector. The attendees will look into ways to overcome those obstacles, and will review the accomplishments the Chamber had achieved during the past year. HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani will brief the businessmen members of the general assembly on future plans related to the development of the private sector and communication among various bodies in the state in order to overcome all obstacles facing the Qatari companies and activate the role of sectorial committees, the Chamber said in a statement. HE the Chairman underlined that the second meeting will be held on Thursday, May 19, regardless of the number of attendees. He noted that the Chamber is implementing practical steps to develop the work on the internal level. The Chamber began development of an information technology network for easy communication with the members, and launched some electronic services for all members. He added that many businessmen are eager to attend the forums and meetings convened by the Chamber, especially with the foreign delegations, pointing out that it is very important for the Chamber that Qatari companies be represented during such meetings with foreign delegations.
