Qatar Charity Constructs Water Filtration Plant in Pakistan

Doha, February 16 (QNA) - Qatar Charity constructed a water filtration plant in 17 Ghag village located in Jhang district of Pakistan's Punjab province to provide nearly 3,500 people with safe drinking water. Qatar Charity also installed 100 electric water coolers with water filtration systems in various government schools and buildings of Jhang and Muzaffargarh, both districts in Punjab province, to benefit 15,000 people. "I appreciate Qatar Charity's efforts in providing clean and cold drinking water in our schools," said Kausar Shah, a government official for education in Muzaffargarh, adding that the schools needed such water coolers that are a valued addition to them. He also added that this intervention will not only provide cold and clean drinking water, but will also protect children from waterborne disease. "Qatar Charity implements projects that meet the needs of the community, in cooperation with the officials of the district," said Azhar Abbas, Deputy Director of Social Welfare in Jhang. (QNA)
