Qatar Charity Renovates 250 Homes in Gaza Strip

Doha, June 24 (QNA) - Qatar Charity Office in Gaza Strip has started the implementation of a project to renovate poor houses in Gaza Strip, with a generous donation from benefactors in the State of Qatar, in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Public Works and Housing. The QR 6,5 million project will benefit 250 families in various areas in Gaza Strip. In a press statement, Qatar Charity explained that the project includes the restoration and rehabilitation of 250 houses of the poor so as to become usable, achieving the independence of the family members and preserving their human dignity. The project also improves the living conditions of these families who are living in difficult economic and social conditions. The project seeks to contribute effectively to providing a suitable healthy environment for the poor through the provision of services and relief interventions in the rehabilitation of the homes of the poor, which is one of the forms of relief in housing, as well as alleviating the economic and social burdens of poor families, and activating the role of international institutions to contribute to housing projects to serve vulnerable groups, the statement added. Qatar Charity affirmed that it would spare no effort to provide safe and healthy housing for the poor families and to ensure a decent life for these families by providing various assistance, whether in cash, in-kind assistance or building social housing and others.
