Qatar Economy Ministry to Launch Campaign to Recall iPhone 5

Doha, September 07 (QNA) - The Ministry of Economy and Commerce said it will launch a campaign for recalling iPhone 5 smartphones sold during the period from September 2012 to June 2013. The campaign is organized in cooperation with Apple's authorized suppliers in Qatar. In a statement, the ministry said that the recalling of iPhone 5 smartphones is because of battery issues, adding that the Ministry's Consumer Protection Department and Commercial Fraud Combat Department will launch the campaign via local daily newspapers, the ministry's website, and in coordination and cooperation with local dealers. Customers who purchased the iPhone 5 device during the said period should visit Apple's website and enter the device's serial number in order to find out the eligibility of his device to battery replacement.
