Qatar Football Hosts Iftar For 12 Asian Communities

Doha, July 13 (QNA) - Qatar Football Association (QFA) hosted Iftar for 12 Asian communities here to express gratitude for their support to tournaments and leagues throughout the season. Football officials and leaders from the 12 Asian communities discussed ways support events and activities at the iftar held at Grand Hyatt here. QFA General Secretary Mansoor Al Ansari and ambassadors of India, Nepal, Indonesia, Lebanon, China, Thailand, Philippines, Republic of Korea, and Japan attended the iftar event. Speaking at the event Al Ansari said, "I appreciate your efforts in building a strong relationship with QFA over the past years. This iftar demonstrates the deep rooted relationship QFA has with the various Asian communities in Qatar and how much QFA values such relationships. We look forward to developing our relationship with you by organising future initiatives that target spreading football across various communities in Qatar." QFA organised the Asian Communities Football Tournament where which six teams competed in its first edition held in 2012-13 season. Its success saw an increase by six more teams in its second and third editions, he said. Indonesian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese, Malaysian, Chinese, Japanese, Jordanian, Lebanese, Indian, Thai, Filipino and South Korean communities attended the iftar. (QNA)
