Qatar Fulfilled Promises in Darfur, Region's Authority Chief Says

Khartoum, July 23 (QNA) - Chairman of Darfur Regional Authority (DRA), Tijani Sese, said Qatar has fulfilled its promises in the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur (DDPD) in terms of achieving security and stability in the region. Sese added that Qatar has provided the world with a new model on how to manage the peace process on the ground and achieve its goals through development and construction programs, eradicating the negative effects of war, bringing about peaceful coexistence, and transforming Darfur's society from war into stability. In an interview with Sudanese radio on Friday, Sese said DDPD was comprehensive and ended the conflict in a modern and scientific wat that gained wide support regionally and globally. "We highly regard what the State of Qatar's leadership, government and people have offered to Sudan in terms of constant support that showed the extent of their appreciation for us," Sese said. He went over the projects that were implemented in Darfur states thanks to the peace process, noting that statistics show that Darfur received a sizable attention in terms of development. He added that the post-DRA period is an inclusive phase in which all the sides take part. (QNA)
