Qatar Fund for Development, UNDP Accelerator Labs Hold Virtual Event on Sustainable Development

Doha, July 21 (QNA) - Qatar Fund for Development and UNDP Accelerator Labs hosted a virtual event on the side lines of the 2020 High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). The theme of the conversation was "The Fast and the Curious. Local innovations to accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals in times of COVID-19". "QFFD is very proud to be a core investor in the Accelerator Labs network. We strongly believe that more can be done and our commitment to more collaborative action is stronger than ever." Said Ali Al Dabbagh Deputy Director General for Planning of QFFD, on his opening remarks. Al-Dabbagh also called for "young innovators to continue addressing the developmental challenges wreaking havoc in fragile states, LDCs, SIDs and hampering progress towards Agenda 2030". The event was attended by Hamad Al Qahtani, SME Incubation & Acceleration Manager & General Manager in Qatar Incubation Center, Nouf Al Kaabi, Development Analyst in Qatar Fund for Development and a number of experts and specialists in the field of development and innovation. The event dealt with the importance of speed and diversity, as well as taking advantage of solutions and employing them to move beyond recovery to achieve the 2030 development goals, as well as discussing how local innovations contribute to accelerating progress towards sustainable development goals, especially during the current period and the worlds crisis.
