Qatar International Court Presents State's Success in Establishing Specialized Judiciary

Doha, May 15 (QNA) - Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) presented the State of Qatar's successful experience in establishing the first specialized court to resolve trade and investment disputes created by international financial companies, which operate through Qatar Financial Center (QFC). These remarks were made at a meeting held by Chief Executive Officer of QICDRC Faisal Rashid Al Sahouti and HE Ambassador of the UK to Qatar Ajay Sharma. Al Sahouti touched on the judicial system of the Qatar International Court, its operation mechanism, the nature of lawsuits it tackles and the litigation degrees. During the meeting they also discussed the ways to promote the ties between Qatar International Courts and the UK in legal matters. On his part, HE the ambassador said the court plays an important role in attracting global investments to Qatar highlighting that there are longstanding historic relations between the State of Qatar and UK in the legal and judicial fields. HE the ambassador said he is looking forward to promote the strong relations in the future with the court. His Excellency visited the courtroom and met the registration team who briefed him on the court's electronic system. They explained that the system provides access to the dispute parties without having to be present in the courtroom, which saves effort and money and ensures prompt settlement disputes and proceedings before the court.
