Qatar-Iran Joint Commission Agrees to Boost Security Cooperation

Doha, April 16 (QNA) - HE Director General of the Public Security Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al-Khulaifi met Wednesday with Iran's Deputy Minister of Interior Ali Abdullahi and the delegation accompanying him, currently on a visit to Doha. During the meeting, the two sides signed the minutes of the first meeting of the joint commission between Qatar and Iran with the aim of enhancing mutual cooperation and coordination and reviewing aspects of security cooperation in areas of concern for the two friendly countries. A round of talks was held on Monday between a Qatari delegation headed by HE the police chief and an Iranian delegation headed by the visiting Iranian official. The session, which was attended by officials from interior ministries of both countries, discussed means of boosting cooperation in areas of common interest. During its three-day visit to Doha, the Iranian delegation visited a number of departments at the Ministry of Interior including evidence and criminal intelligence, criminal, forensic laboratory, Al-Rayyan security department, drug enforcement, and civil defense.
