Qatar Joins the International Competition Network

Doha, July 13 (QNA) - The State of Qatar, represented by the committee on protecting competition in the Ministry of Economy and commerce, has joined the International Competition Network (ICN), a non-government organization established in 2011with the aim of exchanging the best experiences and adopting relevant standards and procedures to be utilized by members all over the world. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce said in a statement today that joining ICN proofs Qatar's keenness on disseminating the culture of competition and benefiting from the related international experiences. The ICN is a specialized yet informal network of established and newer agencies, enriched by the participation of non-governmental advisors (representatives from business, consumer groups, academics, and the legal and economic professions), with the common aim of addressing practical antitrust enforcement and policy issues.
