Qatar Keen on Achieving International Peace and Security

Baku, November 26 (QNA) - Qatar has confirmed to fulfill international obligations through its contributions and political, educational and cultural initiatives to achieve international peace and security and supporting efforts of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) to spread the Arabic language and Islamic culture in non-speaking Arabic language of the Islamic countries. It also stressed its keenness to provide continuous humanitarian and developmental assistance. This came in a statement of the State of Qatar delivered by Qatar's Minister of Education, and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council HE Mohammed bin Abdul Wahid Al Hammadi before the 12th session of the General Conference of the ISESCO currently in session in Baku. HE Dr. Al Hammadi highlighted Qatar's role in supporting efforts and regional and international initiatives to address impact of climate change , mitigate its negative effects , to concern about dialogue among civilizations , promote coexistence between different religions and cultures as well as role of civil society organizations in drumming resources and providing humanitarian and developmental assistance to areas affected by disasters in the world and children deprived of education. Qatar called on the Islamic Organization to intensify its efforts to realize peace, security and stability at the regional and international levels and preserve cultural heritage and to take all measures to ensure the provision of education for their children. HE the Minister referred to the opening speech of the HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani during the 44th ordinary session of the Advisory Council , where HH the Emir said: "We attach great importance for defending the Arab and Islamic causes , the achievement of international peace and security and commitment to international legitimacy and building friendly relations that respect the common interests of the states and non-interference in internal affairs". In this regard, HH the Eimr said: " These days we are witnessing the uprising of the Palestinian people to defend themselves against practices of the occupation and protecting the sanctities of the whole Arab and Muslim nation as well as the steadfastness of the Syrian people for defending their right to a dignified life on their homelands, I repeat our emphasis towards our commitment to the just causes and our principles towards all Arab issues, " Al Hammadi said. In his speech, HH the Emir has confirmed this authentic commitment towards issues of the nation as what we must be done as rulers and public alike solidarity with the right and work to raise those grievances of shoulders of our nation, HE the minister added.
