Qatar Panel to Attend Ministerial Tourism Meeting In Cairo

Doha, November 25 (QNA) - Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will lead an official panel from Qatar to the 14th Session of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Ministerial Council on Tourism, opening Wednesday in Cairo. Executive Bureau members from Kuwait, Oman, Palestine, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, and Egypt will also take part in the three-day meeting. The officials will discuss several issues, including a study by QTA on the bases of selecting observers for meetings of the Council. They will discuss the sub-committee's report on the progress of Arab tourism strategy. Nominations to the Council's quality awards for tourism training colleges will come into focus and a working paper from the Arab Tourism Organization on the new norms for a quality award for touristic restaurants. By taking part in such meetings, QTA boosts Qatar’s role in joint Arab action on tourism, QTA said. Arab tourism ministers from state members, and officials from Arab Tourism Organization, UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Arab Tourism Writers Union, Arab Academy for Science and Technology, and the Technical Secretariat of Arab League will attend the meeting.
