Qatar to Participate in Conference of the Parties to UN Framework Convention on Climate Change

Lima, December 07 (QNA) - The State of Qatar is participating in 20th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP20), currently underway in the city of Lima, capital of Peru. Events include a meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Durban Platform for Enhanced Action (ADP), in addition to the annual sessions of the technical organs of the Convention on climate change, the subsidiary body for implementation and the subsidiary body for scientific and technological advice which discusses issues and decisions forwarded by the Conference of the parties. Qatar's delegation to the session comprises representatives of the ministries of Environment and Foreign Affairs, Economy and Trade, as well as the Civil Aviation Authority, Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) and Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAK). The State of Qatar has hosted the 18th United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP18), which was one of the most successful conferences and a milestone in the history of the State of Qatar in hosting such international events.(QNA)
