Qatar Participates in International Holy Quran Contest in Tunisia

Tunis, May 04 (QNA) - Qatar is set to participate in the International Competition for the Holy Quran Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation, which began in Al-Zaytuna Mosque yesterday and will continue until next Thursday. Qatar is represented by Hamad bin Misfer Al-Marri , who is student of Qur'an Memorization Centre of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and competes in section of the Holy Quran memorization. Al-Marri said he had prepared himself for the competition, stressing that he will follow the march of the Qatari participants who have achieved advanced positions in the previous competitions. The State of Qatar has obtained the first place in the international holy Quran Memorization, Recitation and Interpretation contest among 21 countries, held in Tunisia in the year 1431 AH. Yousef Jaber Al-Tamimi won the first place in the contest for the memorization of fifteen parts of the Holy Quran. The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is keen to participate in international competitions of the Holy Quran contest.(QNA)
