Qatar Participates in NATO and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative Ministerial Meeting

Brussels, April 02 (QNA) - Qatar's Assistant Foreign Minister for Foreign Affairs HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi participated here today in the ministerial meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the Member States in the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative which was held on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the launch of the Initiative. It is noteworthy that the four Gulf states were signatory to the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative including the State of Qatar , Kuwait, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates . The meetings were attended by Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al Thani, . The Istanbul Cooperation Initiative between NATO and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) was launched at a summit held in Istanbul, Turkey in June 2004 to contribute to the long-term security on the regional and global levels through the promotion of bilateral cooperation.
