Qatar Population Increases by 8.8 Percent in Last October

Doha, November 29 (QNA) - Data of the Ministry of Development Planning showed that population in the State of Qatar during last October totaled over 2.412 recording an increase of 8.8 percent compared the same month last year in which the population exceeded 2.216 The data, published in the new edition of the bulletin (Qatar: Monthly Statistics), included a number of annual social and economic changes in addition to statistical changes about the month of October 2015. The data showed that the number of visitors who entered the State of Qatar increased by 4.9 percent until the month of October compared to the corresponding period last year. Visitors from GCC states, estimated at 44.7 percent of the overall number of visitors, constituted the majority. Beneficiaries from social security in October totaled 12,216 Qatari citizens, a monthly drop by 1.3 percent compared to the month of September where beneficiaries from social security totaled12,382, the data showed. Regarding marriage contacts and divorces, the data showed that marriage contracts registered in the month of October increased by 4.2 percent compared to the month of September with the registration of a total of 3,152 marriage contracts since the start of the year and until the end of October 2015. Meanwhile cases of divorce dropped by 52.6 percent or a total of 1,233 cases during the same period. The data also revealed that vehicles registered in the month of October totaled 9,812 compared to 8,090 vehicles registered in September.(QNA)
