Qatar Social and Cultural Center for Blind Concludes Summer Programme

Doha, August 18 (QNA) - Qatar Social and Cultural Center for Blind, an affiliate of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, has concluded its summer programme which was held over a six-week period. The closing ceremony was held on the theatre of the Traffic Department in Doha. The ceremony included a presentation highlighting the activities carried during the Centre's summer programme in addition to poetry reading and folklore performances. Qatar Social and Cultural Center for Blind Chairman Faisal Al Kahwaji said in a speech during the ceremony that the Centre was keen on diversifying the activities to benefit different age groups of both genders. He explained that the Centre has sought, through the summer programme, to achieve a number of goals to serve the visually impaired people. The Centre also offered courses in technical assistance for people with visual disabilities to learn about programs such as Braille, Internet surfing skills for people with visual disabilities, as well as training workshops, educational lectures and informative visits to the Qatar National Library.
