Qatar Tourism Authority to Participate in Earth Day

Doha, March 27 (QNA) - Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will participate tomorrow Saturday with a host of public and private sector companies in Earth Day, where lights are turned off or dimmed for an hour. Some 7000 cities are expected to participate tomorrow in the event, considered to be the biggest environmentally in the world. QTA aims to raise awareness on the importance of preserving the Earth's resources for future generations. QTA follows the United Nations World Tourism Organization's Global Code of Ethics for Tourism and looks to develop and environmentally-friendly tourism sector in the State of Qatar. (QNA)
