Qatar University Recognized for Qatarization in Energy and Industry Sector

Doha, June 08 (QNA) - Qatar University's obtaining of the partnership award during the 14th annual meeting on the energy & industry sector Qatarization plan's revision reflects the sector's recognition of the university's role and ambitious plan to prepare highly qualified cadres that contribute to the achievement of Qatar National Vision 2030, said QU President Dr Sheikha bint Abdullah Al Misnad. "One of the basic pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030 is human development. This ambitious vision will not be achieved without the hands and minds of the faithful sons of the nation who do their utmost to consolidate the role and status of Qatar on the intellectual and economic world map," Dr Al Misnad said. As Qatar's premier national university, Dr Al Misnad said, Qatar University is very keen on contributing to building a knowledge-based economy by focusing on scientific research, which will reflect on national economy. She added that QU is interested in preparing a generation of skilled Qatari researchers by providing them with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees as well as sending them abroad for further studies. "QU's vision is closely linked to the vision of Qatar, which is based on the aspirations of HH the Emir that QU becomes a leading national university in the region. The university plays a pivotal role in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 through the empowerment of Qatari young people and helping them achieve the aspirations of the Qatar," Dr Al Misnad said.
