Qatargas Promotes Good Health on National Sports Day

Doha, February 09 (QNA) - Qatargas organized a variety of sports events at Qatargas gymnasium at its head office in Doha, Al Gharafa Sports Club, Doha Golf Club, and Al Khor Community to observe Qatar National Sports Day (NSD). Hundreds of employees and families participated in the Sports Day activities organized by Qatargas. Al Gharafa Sports Club was the main venue for Qatargas employees residing in Doha. Building a healthy and productive society is a key objective of the Human Development Pillar of Qatar National Vision 2030 as well as a key objective of Qatargas' Corporate Social Responsibility, the company said. The gathering participated in a two kilometer walkathon and they played football, beach volleyball, basketball, table tennis and cricket. There was also a special area for children with several attractions like bouncy castles and slides. People also had the opportunity to have their blood sugar levels, blood pressure and body mass index checked at a dedicated health-check area set up by the Qatargas Medical Department. Qatargas medical and security support services were on stand-by, to ensure the safety and security of all participants. The days activities at the Al Gharafa Club came to a close with the prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the various competitions. Golf enthusiasts teed off at the Doha Golf Club. In addition to honing their golfing skills at the Doha Golf Club Academy's driving range, they also enjoyed playing on a purpose-made, 5-hole putting course and participated in a number of golfing lessons delivered by PGA professionals. Activities were also held at the state-of-the-art gymnasium at Qatargas' Doha head office with general work-out sessions for the regular members. A wide range of exciting activities were also organized in the Al Khor Community. In addition to a five-kilometer walkathon, several popular sports and games like football, volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, cricket and athletics were organized. There were also plenty of fun and games for children. Over 4,000 Qatargas employees and families participated in the activities held at the various locations in Doha and Al Khor Community. (QNA)
