Qatari Businessmen Association Praises Continuous Government Support to Private Sector

Doha, December 02 (QNA) - The Qatari Businessmen Association (QBA) praised the continuous government support to the private sector and encourage it to play its role in order to contribute to promoting economic growth and promoting the process of sustainable development. This came during a meeting held by the Association today, chaired by HE Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, to discuss the challenges facing the private sector in the receding phase of the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and effective ways to overcome its economic consequences and effects on the business environment and the private sector. In this context, the Association praised the efforts of "Private Sector Obstacles Committee", chaired by HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, to address the challenges facing the sector. It indicated that this committee, which comes with a government initiative to strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors, is evidence of the government's continuing provision of the necessary support to the private sector, and encouraging it to play the role assigned to it, by harnessing all necessary capabilities and overcoming obstacles in the way of achieving sustainable development. The Association members discussed the requirements of the private sector and the challenges facing it in light of the global health crisis, and its economic consequences, and presented a series of unified proposals to meet these challenges, which will be submitted to the concerned authorities.
