Qatari Environment Minister Meets Sudanese Counterpart

Khartoum, October 27 (QNA) - Qatar's Minister of Environment HE Ahmed bin Amer Al-Humaidi met here today with Sudanese Minister of Environment, Forestry and Urban Development Hassan Abdel Qader Helal. Discussions during the meeting dealt with joint cooperation in addition to environmental projects that are implemented in the Sudan to upgrade this domain. HE the Minister of Environment stressed the Qatari Government's keenness to cooperate with the Sudanese Government in the areas of environment, hailing the development of bilateral relations in all fields. He said that the visit comes at the invitation by his Sudanese counterpart, stressing the desire of the Qatari and the Sudanese leaderships in developing relations and increase mutual cooperation, adding that the coming period would witness a significant increase in environmental investment and areas of cooperation in this area. For his part, the Sudanese Minister said the talks touched on environmental projects to combat desertification and drought and fighting pollution in addition to water projects and take advantage of the clean energies such as solar, wind and water resources, which will be implemented shortly for their importance in the promotion of citizens ' lives .
