Qatari, Omani Private Sectors Discuss Strengthening Commercial Relations

Doha, February 09 (QNA) - The Qatar Chamber of Commerce discussed ways to develop private-sector mutual investments in Qatar and Oman. Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar met with Head of the Commercial Representative of the Sultanate of Oman in Qatar Ishaq bin Khalfan Al Busaidi, during the meeting Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman highlighted the significant development of trade relations between Qatar and Oman, and pointed that the State of Qatar has large and varied investments in the Sultanate of Oman, thanks to successful and model projects supported by the two brotherly countries. On his part, Qatar Chamber First Vice-Chairman stressed that the commercial relations between both countries are growing fast, noting that Qatar has various successful investments and projects in Oman. He also indicated that Qatari businessmen are interested in learning about the investment opportunities available in Oman, adding that there is room for the private sector in both countries to develop their trade relations in various fields, and asserted that Qatar Chamber always encourages Qatari businessmen to invest in Oman and forge partnerships with their Oman counterparts. Al Kuwari said that Qatar Chamber organized a successful edition of the "Made in Qatar" expo in Oman which ended with fruitful conclusions and gained large participation and held many visits to for Qatari businessmen to Oman, assuring that these visits helped in further developing commercial relations between the two countries. "We are keen on organizing a business visit for Qatari businessmen to Oman to review investment opportunities available there and meet with their Omani counterparts," he said. On his part, Ishaq Al Busaidi said that his visit to the Chamber aimed to coordinate to strengthen relations between the private sector in the two brotherly countries, discuss ways to enhance cooperation between Qatari and Omani business owners, and to introduce the investment opportunities available in Oman in various sectors including tourism, industry, agriculture, and fish farming sectors, as well as opportunities available in Al Duqm Zone. Al Busaidi also assured the importance to hold a Qatar-Oman business forum to bring together businessmen and investors willing to do business in Oman and review the most important opportunities galore in Omani projects.
