Qatari-Turkish Economic Relations Discussed

Doha, April 20 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani met here on Sunday with his Turkish counterpart Nihat Zeybekci. During the meeting, which was held on the side line of the Qatari- Turkish Business Forum, they discussed ways to promote bilateral relations, particularly in the economic, commercial and investment fields. Talks during the meeting addressed a range of topics including increasing Qatari exports to Turkey by encouraging chambers of commerce in both countries to benefit from the agreements signed between them, exchanging visits to serve mutual interests and activating the joint business council in addition to cooperation in the field of agriculture. The meeting also addressed the human resources development and training of technical personnel in different production activities in addition to organising commercial fairs and exhibitions in both countries in order to introduce goods and products of both countries. Under the auspices of HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani, the Qatari-Turkish Business Forum was held with the aim of promoting bilateral economic relations, supporting communication between businessmen of both countries, increasing investments in the two countries. The forum is considered as an important step towards expanding the horizons of cooperation between the two sides, and creating new opportunities for investment between Qatar and Turkey, through the establishment of investment projects between the various companies in both countries. Several entities have participated in the on-day forum, including Qatar Chamber of Commerce, the Qatari Businessmen Association, the Qatari-Turkish Businessmen Association and the Turkish Exporters Association, in addition to a number of Qatari and Turkish companies.
