Qataris Crowned Champions of GCC Athletics Championships

Doha, April 06 (QNA) - Qatari men and women were crowned champions of the GCC Athletics Championships for Men and Women, held in the International Khalifa Stadium over the past three days. Qatari men and women garnered a total of 33 medals; 19 golden, seven silver and seven bronze. Kuwait came second with a total of 38 medal; 13 golden, 10 silver and 15 bronze. The Sultanate of Oman came in third place with a total of 28 medals; two golden, 17 silver and nine bronze. President of the Asian Athletics Association (AAA) and Qatar Association of Athletics Federation (QAAF) Dahlan Al Hamad expressed his delight with the win and praised the participating teams. He also dedicated the win to HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. (QNA)
