Qatar's Ambassador in Austria Meets UN Chief of Cybercrime, Anti-Money Laundering, Counter-Financing of Terrorism

Vienna, July 10 (QNA) - HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations and international organizations in Vienna Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani has met with UN Chief of Cybercrime, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Department Neil Walsh at the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna. During the meeting, they discussed enhancing relations between the State of Qatar and the United Nations in combating cybercrime. HE reiterated the State of Qatar's commitment to supporting the United Nations efforts to combat organized crime in various forms, including cybercrime which is a threat to security and stability in the world, stressing Qatar's consistent approach in combating organized crime, promoting development and respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States. HE also stressed the importance that the State of Qatar attaches to combating cybercrime, which is defined internationally as an intercontinental terrorist crime and states are obligated to fight and cooperate in combating it, pointing out that countries that are behind it must be held international legal responsible because it.
