Qatar's Attorney General Calls for Comprehensive Counter-Terrorism Strategy

Doha, February 28 (QNA) - HE Attorney-General of the State of Qatar Dr. Ali ben Fetais Al Marri stressed Saturday on the importance of placing a comprehensive strategy for extracting terrorism from its roots, highlighting that the fight against terrorism cannot win only through missiles and tanks. HE the Attorney-General was speaking during a seminar held by Rule of Law and Anti-corruption Center on the role fighting corruption can play in counter-terrorism. The seminar included a number of prominent speakers such as former Prime Minister of Jordan Awn Al-Khasawneh. His Excellency highlighted that the State was keen on ensuring that Qatar a state that undertook the rule of law and the separation of power. He added that the desire was reflected in Qatar National Vision and the thinking of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. The Attorney-General added that Qatar understood the importance of transparency and anti-corruption since the rule of HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. His Excellency also highlighted that establishing the Rule of Law center was the idea of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim. The center was established in cooperation with the United Nations and works on promoting the principles of Rule of Law and anti-corruption in the Arab World. (QNA)
