Qatar's Defense Minister Stresses Need to Move to Advanced Technology

Doha, October 06 (QNA) - HE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah stressed the increasing need for unifying international efforts to ease the transfer to advanced technology, expressing hope that the 19th International Business Forum (IBF) will be a step in that direction. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event on Tuesday, HE the minister said the conference aims to boost and develop the deep ties between Qatar and Turkey so as to activate cooperation in the economic and commercial field, increase the trade exchange between the two countries, create a platform that includes the public and private sectors, create cooperation opportunities for relevant sectors, build bridges of communication between businessmen in both countries to discuss investment and commercial opportunities, and evaluate potential cooperation in the industry of security technology and advanced defense technology. He highlighted the participation of several ministries and economic entities in Qatar, noting that high-level ministries and economic institutions take part in the event from the Turkish side. HE Al Attiyah said Qatar is keen on coping up with rapid changes by designing the necessary plans to provide the requirements for positive interaction with new technology. Addressing participants in the event, he said that the outcome of the conference will be a great addition to economy and advanced technology and a reference for future economic cooperation between the two countries.
