Qatar's Embassy in Manila Marks National Day

Manila, December 21 (QNA) - Qatar's Ambassador to the Philippines, HE Jassim bin Ali Al Obaidly, held a reception ceremony at the Shangri-La Hotel on the occasion of the National Day of the State of Qatar. The reception was attended by a number of distinguished senior political leaders and prominent Filipino social figures and officials led by Philippines Foreign Minister, HE Albert F. Del Rosario. Heads of diplomatic missions and members of Arab and foreign countries accredited to the Philippines along with a number of Filipinos, Arab and foreigner businessmen have also attended the reception.. The Qatari Ambassador has delivered an opening speech in which he praised the development of relations between Qatar and the Philippines, stressing the solidarity and the support of Qatar with the Republic of the Philippines during the Typhoon Haiyan, which caused the death of thousands, the destruction of properties and the deterioration of living and health conditions in the affected areas, adding that Qatar has sent two emergency relief planes helping to ease the ordeal. Some documentary films, where also presented during the reception on the overall renaissance taking place in the State of Qatar in various fields, as well as the distribution of brochures about the most important tourist sites and cultural and recreational areas in Qatar.
