Qatar's Embassy in Turkey Marks National Day

Ankara, December 18 (QNA) - HE Qatar's Ambassador to Turkey Salem Mubarak Shafi Salem Al-Shafi held a reception to mark Qatar's National Day. The ceremony was attended by Turkish Defence Minister Ismet Yilmaz, and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek and Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Development and Justice Party Yassin Oktay along with a number of senior officials, parliamentarians, scholars, media workers eminent personalities, and heads and members of diplomatic missions accredited to Turkey. HE the Ambassador said in a speech during the ceremony that the priorities of Qatar, under the leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and in light of Qatar National Vision 2030, are to achieve prosperity and decent life for its citizens, and peace, stability and prosperity for the region and its peoples. He praised the Qatari-Turkish relations, saying that these relations are based not only on mutual interests, but also on a solid foundation of high values and principles. Thank to this foundation and to the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE the president of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the relations between the two countries become more durable day after day, he said expressing pride what have been achieved during the past few years on the political, economic, cultural and social levels. The ceremony also included shows of short films on the Qatari history in addition to aspects of cultural heritage and social life in Qatar. (QNA)
