Qatar's Minister of Commerce and Industry Meets UK Secretary of State for International Trade

Doha, February 15 (QNA) - HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari met on Monday with HE Secretary of State for International Trade of the United Kingdom Ranil Jayawardena, who is visiting the country. During the meeting, they reviewed aspects of joint cooperation between the two countries in the trade, investment and industrial fields and ways of enhancing and developing them, in addition to discussing trade policies between the two countries, and efforts made by the two sides in the context of confronting the coronavirus pandemic. During the meeting, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry reviewed the economic policies adopted by the State of Qatar and the role through which they contributed to removing restrictions on foreign investment and providing more investment opportunities for companies wishing to invest in the State of Qatar. The UK is an important trade partner for the State of Qatar, as the volume of trade exchange between the two countries reached nearly USD 3 billion during 2020. (QNA)
