Qatar's Minister of Education Honors Student Winners of International Awards

Doha, June 07 (QNA) - HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi expressed his pride in Qatari students winning prestigious competitions of strict scientific standards in the 2017-18 academic year and landing valuable awards and medals as they promoted the name of Qatar in international forums. Speaking as he honored students who won regional and international competitions, HE the minister praised their scientific performance and said that their participation allowed them to gain experience and learn about the best practices while also gaining new skills that open new horizons for them and enhance their academic performance. HE the minister recognized the students with certificates of appreciation as well as financial prizes from the ministry's sponsor QNB, in addition to in-kind prizes from Vodafone in appreciation of their innovation and excellence. HE the minister of education and higher education praised the academic achievements of the students at the international level and said that they indicate the strength of the educational experience they have acquired in their schools. He urged them to continue to excel so that they have a legacy at the international and civilizational levels and contribute to the development of Qatar. He noted that societies advance through excellence and creativity and increasing the number of innovators in the different fields. HE Dr. Al Hammadi thanked parents of the students and said that they make the difference in the excellence and success of their children by providing a favorable home environment, and supporting their education. He also thanked the school principals and teachers who contributed to the students' win, in addition to QNB and Vodafone for their support and care for the activities of the ministry, praising their social responsibility towards their community. He called on students not only to limit their ambition to the award, and encouraged them to self-develop and pursue new horizons to serve their country and raise its name in international forums. He also directed school administrations to encourage outstanding students and facilitate their participation in international scientific competitions. (QNA)
