Qatar's Minister of Justice Launches "Sak" Web Portal for Digital Documentation

Doha, February 14 (QNA) - HE Minister of Justice Dr. Hassan bin Lahdan Al Muhannadi inaugurated today a legal web portal under the name of Sak. The web portal is part of the first phase of developing the infra-structure of legal documentation at the State of Qatar. HE the Minister oversaw the first electronic transaction. The portal provides 14 different online documentation services. In the near future, the ministry will add 16 different real estate registration services. Commenting on the launch, HE the Minister said it comes in the context of the directives of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to facilitate government services to citizens. The web portal is part of Qatar's e-government strategy 2020, which is implemented under the directives of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani. Part of establishing the portal will be to digitize all real estate documents. The new electronic system will adopt a one stop shop system, where citizens can finish all the steps of registering a property at one place. The government employee can check the status of any request made through an SMS service. He can use to find out whether there are missing papers, or if the request was rejected. (QNA)
