Qatar's NHRC Chairman Meets GCC Secretary General

Riyadh ,September 15 (QNA) - GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdul Latif Bin Rashid Al Zayani met here today with the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) Chairman Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, they discussed the human rights situation in the region and ways to improve mechanisms of promoting the culture of human rights as well as ways to cooperate on issues of common interest. During their talks, Al Marri extended an invitation to Dr.Al-Zayani to attend an international conference on the challenges of security and human rights, which will be organized by NHRC in partnership with the Arab Interior Ministers Council, the Arab League's General Secretariat, the UN High Commission for Human Rights and the Arab Network of National Institutions for Human Rights (ANHRIs) on November 5-6 in Doha.
