Qatar's UNESCO Candidate Arrives in Brussels

Brussels, May 29 (QNA) - The State of Qatar's candidate to the Post of the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Advisor at the Emiri Diwan, HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, arrived in the Belgian capital, Brussels, on Sunday to deliver a speech in the European Union headquarters to introduce his election program and explain his vision for the future of the UN Organization. Dr. Al Kuwari is scheduled to deliver his speech during a meeting organized in coordination between the Qatari-European Friendship Association at the European Parliament and the State of Qatar's Mission to the European Union on Tuesday evening in the presence of a group of Belgian high-level personalities, European Commissioners and NATO officials along with a large number of European parliamentarians, Ambassadors of Arab and foreign missions accredited to Brussels and permanent representatives to the European Union. The speech will be preceded by extensive meetings with Education and Culture Commissioners aimed at introducing the Qatari candidate's program. Dr. Al Kuwari is expected along with Yvan Mayeur, Mayor of Brussels, and tomorrow to lay a wreath at the memorial of the victims of terrorist attacks at the Maelbeek metro station. (QNA)
