Qatar's UNESCO Candidate Stresses Importance of International Solidarity to Fight Terrorism

Brussels, May 30 (QNA) - The State of Qatar's candidate to the Post of the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Advisor at the Emiri Diwan, HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, stressed the need for the cooperation and solidarity of the international community to fight terrorism.     Terrorism is a common threat of whole humanity and it does not differentiate between its targets, he said, condemning all forms of terrorism.     This came in a statement by Dr. Al Kuwari on Monday after laying a wreath at the memorial of the victims of terrorist attacks at the Maelbeek metro station along with Yvan Mayeur, Mayor of Brussels, and HE Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani, Qatar's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium and Head of Mission of the State of Qatar to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). HE Dr. Al Kuwari expressed sympathy with the victims' families from different nationalities and thanked the Mayor of Brussels for giving him such a humanitarian opportunity.      For his part, the Mayor of Brussels, thanked Qatar's UNESCO Candidate for his humanitarian initiative that would have a profound impact on the families of the victims.     Dr. Al Kuwari is currently visiting Brussels to deliver a speech in the European Union headquarters to introduce his election program and explain his vision for the future of the UN Organization. During the visit, he scheduled to hold extensive meetings with Education and Culture Commissioners aimed at introducing the Qatari candidate's program. (QNA)
