QC and UK- based International Medical Corps Sign Cooperation Contracts

Doha, September 23 (QNA) - Qatar Charity (QC) and UK- based International Medical Corps concluded cooperation contracts to implement health projects in Syria , the Central African Republic and Sierra Leone worth QAR 8.395 million financed by Qatar Charity. The agreement was signed here today by Qatar Charity Chief Executive Officer Youssuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and , Executive Director of International Medical Corps Kevin Noone. Based on these contracts, the International Medical Corps will immediately start working out health care and training programmes in order to help those affected by conflicts in Syria and the Central African Republic and contribute to efforts to contain the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone, depending on a donation estimated at USD 2.3 million , which is equivalent to QC's QR 8.395 million . President and CEO of International Medical Corps Nancy Aossey said QC's generous donation will help us rapidly meet the growing humanitarian needs, saying the increasing of the brunt of the conflict in Syria and the Central African Republic. With the outbreak of Ebola in Sierra Leone, it has become imperative that the international community should move quickly to rectify things. In a press statement following the agreement's signing ceremony, Youssuf bin Ahmed Al Kuwari said that QC is happy to establish a successful partnership with the International Medical Corps in order to enhance the capabilities of the medical emergency sector which suffers neglect and lack of resources and services . He pointed out that QC pay special attention to Syrian children who are suffering from paralysis and measles and also cares for outbreak of Ebola in west Africa and the related dangers that threats not only the rest of Africa, but also the whole world.(QNA)
