QF Radio to Stop Transmissions from October

Doha, June 28 (QNA) - QF Radio will stop transmissions at the end of October 2016 after seven years of service. Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) has revealed that QF Radio, started in 2009, will be entering a transitional phase over the next few months, and will cease transmissions at the end of October 2016. Mohammed Al Beshri, QF Media Center Manager, said: "We are truly proud of the networks accomplishments, both in Arabic and in English, over the past seven years. QF Radio has been a key player in Qatar's broadcast sector, and succeeded in connecting QF with the local community through its innovative and diversify youth and educational programming." "Additionally, QF Radio has covered all of the foundations events and trained many of its universities students, who participated in presenting and producing an array of live and recorded programmes." "Of course, none of this would have been possible without the dedication of our staff members, and I want to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of them. It has been a genuine privilege to lead such a talented team." Past and current successful programmes will be revisited and celebrated over the next few months. The Ramadan and summer schedules will be maintained and, until the end of October, the general public will be able to enjoy some of the programmes that marked the history of QF Radio.(QNA)
