QF Senior Executives Graduate from Oxford Leadership Development Programme

Doha, May 31 (QNA) - Executives from Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development recently completed the latest edition of the Senior Management Leadership Development Programme delivered by Said Business School at the prestigious University of Oxford. Having partnered with the Said Business School for the six-month course, Qatar Foundation acknowledged the achievements of its leaders at a ceremony held at the Qatar National Convention Centre. The 25 senior executives were selected as participants on the programme, developed as a leadership pipeline, to equip them with the competencies necessary to confront the current strategic challenges at Qatar Foundation. Engineer Saad Al Muhannadi, President of Qatar Foundation, congratulated the executives saying they had taken time out of their busy schedules to pursue a learning programme which had helped them strengthen working relationships with one another and add greater value to their respective roles. "I want our young current and future leaders to understand that Qatar Foundation has achieved so much and our ability to excel in the next phase of the Qatar Foundations future is dependent on them," he said. "The next 20 years will depend on how we capitalise on what has been built over the past 19 years. We have achieved a tremendous amount and I am proud of how we have faced up to the different challenges we have encountered along the way. I say with confidence that we at Qatar Foundation pride ourselves on having a world class working environment. " The four learning modules of the Senior Management Leadership Development Programme, which catered exclusively to Qatar Foundations diverse and unique needs, covered the core themes of organisational strategy, innovation and creativity, results delivery and effective people management. The programme also featured one-on-one coaching sessions and included strategic group projects which saw participants address some of the current issues and challenges at Qatar Foundation. In his opening remarks, Hassan Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Human Resources at Qatar Foundation, said: "Today, we are going to crown the achievements you've worked towards over the last six months. Although each of you is presenting your final projects and this ceremony has been labelled the 'Concluding Event,' I want to reassure you that this does not mark the end of this journey, but rather the continuation. "One of the main objectives of Qatar Foundation is continuous improvement, therefore it is essential we continue to learn every day, make improvements to ourselves and work towards achieving the QF vision, mission and strategic objectives." While encouraging the programme participants to cherish their experiences gained and relationships built, Al Hammadi added: "During the past six months, you have developed strong relationships with your colleagues from various directorates. I can only urge that you continue to nurture these relationships and develop them further." Inaugurated last year, the Senior Management Leadership Development Programme continues to be the most popular development initiative at Qatar Foundation, with 50 senior managers having participated. Serving one of Qatar Foundation's strategic objectives to develop nationals, the programme has helped elevate two graduates to high profile positions as Group Executive Directors. (END)
