QGBC Prepares for Qatar Sustainability Week 2018

Doha, September 25 (QNA) - Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), prepares for holding the third edition of Qatar Sustainability Week 2018 from October 27 to November 3, with expectations that this year's edition will be more extensive than ever before. QGBC organizes this annual event as part of its efforts to achieve Qatar's sustainability goals by engaging public and private sector organizations in sustainability-oriented activities and fostering a culture of sustainability among residents. Qatar Sustainability Week 2018 will kick off with one of its most prominent events, the fourth edition of the Qatar Green Building Conference, from October 28-30, which will bring together industry leaders and sustainability experts to address, and showcase their innovative solutions to, Qatar and the regions most pressing environmental challenges. Engineer Director, QGBC Meshal Al Shamari, said: "Qatar Sustainability Week has become a popular fixture on the Qatari calendar, and each year we see more exciting activities and events, and more people taking part and attending" "The great thing about the week is that everyone can join in. There are plenty of events and activities to take part in, and any organization can host an event themselves." "We've already seen strong interest in the registration of events this year and we hope to see more partners sign up in the coming weeks. Qatar Sustainability Week is most successful when members of the community, as well as those from public and private sector organizations, play an active role," he added. Over 20,000 people participated in Qatar Sustainability Week 2017, with over 200 events being registered by over 100 partners. This year, QGBC is expecting even greater levels of engagement with the event. (QNA)
