QNA Concludes A Specialized Workshop on Advanced IT

Doha, May 06 (QNA) -Qatar news agency (QNA) on Tuesday concluded here Tuesday a specialized workshop on a state- of- the art information Technology (IT) in which a number of technicians and IT specialists from the cooperation council for the Arab states of the gulf (GCC) member states participated. During the three -day function, which falls with the framework of the series of training courses and workshops QNA launches with the aim of providing rehabilitation and training facilities to the national cadres working in the media field, Eng.Hany Jaber , the director of programmes and news agencies systems at Sedec company gave presentations on the technolohical challenges facing news agencies and the updated technological advances in dealing with news besides mechanisms of access to the subscribers in particular and the public in general through smart device applications and social media. The event also includes axes on how best to render new competative services through the optimal use of new technology in news services domain to communicate the news content and marketing these services in a successful manner. At the end of the function, Eng. Khalid Al-Muttawa , the Director of the Technical Affairs Department at QNA distributed certificates to the 13 participants representing each of Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Sultante of Oman and the GCC general secretariat . QNA organises such workshops in implementation of the Emiri Decision No.51 of 2009 which authorises QNA to organize these training courses and workshops to update the skills of the participants and raise their professional standards through ongoing training and developing programmes. QNA is slated to organise during this year a number of similar courses and workshops to achieve maximum utilization for those working in the field. (QNA)
