QP Showcases Operations at International Petroleum Technology Conference

Kuala Lumpur, December 10 (QNA) - Qatar Petroleum (QP) together with several of its joint ventures and subsidiaries has showcased its operations during its participation in the eighth International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC), currently underway in Kuala Lumpur. The QP exhibition stand includes the activities of its Industrial Cities Directorate and features the displays of QP's five joint ventures and subsidiaries, namely: Qatargas Operating Company Ltd., RasGas Company Limited, Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO), Qatar Fuel Additives Company (QAFAC), and Qatar Petroleum International (QPI). The Qatari delegation plays a key role in the 8th IPTC Conference as a number of officials from QP, Qatargas, RasGas and QPI are scheduled to deliver presentations as part of the event's technical program. In addition, the RasGas Expansion Phase 2 (RGX2) Project has been announced as the winner of the IPTC Excellence in Project Integration Award. Held with the theme "Innovation and Collaboration: Keys to Affordable Energy," the 8th IPTC is hosted by Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), with Shell and Schlumberger as the co-hosts of the event. The previous edition of this major industry event was held in Doha in January this year, with QP as the host organization and ExxonMobil as the co-host. QP is the sponsor of the event's closing session on December Friday, during which all exhibitors and delegates will be invited to participate in the ninth edition, which will be held again in Doha. Scheduled on December 6-9 next year at Qatar National Convention Centre, the 9th IPTC will once again be hosted by QP, with Shell as the co-host organization. Founded in 2005, IPTC is recognized as the multi-disciplinary, multi-society technical event in the Eastern Hemisphere. It is sponsored by four major industry organizations; the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE), the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). IPTC is held annually and rotates between Qatar and venues in the Asia-Pacific region. (QNA)
