QRC Honors Outstanding Students, Excellent Mothers

Doha, June 24 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) has organized a ceremony to honor outstanding students in Qatar and the educators and mothers who supported their success. The move came as part of its social mother and child events during Ramadan, with the QR 80,000 program identifying students who have received high marks in all educational levels in cooperation with the management of schools to honor them as well as their parents and teachers in recognition of their efforts, and as an incentive for them to pursue academic and professional excellence. Hanadi Al-Moallem, head of empowerment and social development department at QRC, welcomed the guests and said QRC has for years hailed the outstanding students, to encourage them make more progress and become an example for their peers. "Looking for the better, we developed the program to cover more groups that deserve appreciation, namely the mothers, educators, and students with special needs who challenge their physical limitations to shape their future," she said. After that, she honored 80 outstanding students and seven mothers and educators who contributed to their success. A father, who had five of his children honored during the event, said he has many children in primary education through university. He commended QRC's efforts to support these success stories, which were the product of common work from the home and the school to build the personalities of students. The 'Outstanding Students' is one of QRC's social and cultural programs held during Ramadan, including 'Recite and Ascend' for children who memorize the Quran, 'This is My Wish' to fulfill the wishes of ill children at hospitals, and 'Cordiality Iftar' to share hospital inmates the Iftar meal and support them psychologically, in line with QRC's mission of helping special social groups such as patients, mothers, and children, in pursuit of the human development sought under Qatar National Vision 2030.
