QRC Participates in GCC Meetings

Doha, September 23 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) recently participated in a series of important coordination meetings held at the Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States in Riyadh. Qatari Red Crescent said in a press release, issued today, that it participated on September 17 and 18 in the first meeting of the permanent working group tasked with the follow up of consultations of the international movement on the "Agreement on the organization of the international activities of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement ", known as the "Seville Agreement ." The meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Director of QRC International Relations and International Humanitarian Law Dr. Fawzi Osiddiq law, followed up what was approved during the 10th consultative meeting of heads of Red Crescent societies on Seville Agreement, held in Kuwait during the month of May. Qatar Red Crescent, representative by Dr. Khaled Diab, Director of International Relief and Development, also participated in the first meeting of the GCC working group assigned to follow up the humanitarian situation in Syria from September 15 to 18. The meeting discussed the latest developments of the Syrian crisis and possible future developments.(QNA)
