QRCS Aids Syrian Refuges in Arsal

Doha, May 31 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society's (QRCS) mission in Lebanon rushed to relieve the displaced Syrians in the town of Arsal after their tents were damaged by the storm that suddenly hit the town after weeks of heat and drought. QRCS said in a statement that its emergency team had moved urgently and conducted a field tour between the camps, during which they monitored the damage and distributed metal sheets to owners of the damaged tents and rooms with metal roofs to repair them. QRCS stressed that its emergency team is always ready to intervene urgently during crises and emergency situations of storms and fires, in coordination with the associations and organizations operating in the town. QRCS also affirmed that its mission in Lebanon will continue supporting displaced people through a series of vital and developmental projects that contribute to alleviating the suffering of displacement, noting that the mission is completing the final phase of the flood prevention project there in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
