QRCS Discusses Cooperation with Turkish Delegation for Syrian Refugees

Doha, September 04 (QNA) - Executive Director of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) Youssef Abdullah Al Sada met with a Turkish delegation. During the meeting, they discussed the aspects of humanitarian cooperation and ways to promote the services provided to Syrian refugees in Turkey, in cooperation with the Turkish Red Crescent. Al Sada praised the effective role played by Turkey and its red crescent to help those affected from the Syrian issue, as well as the continuous cooperation on the matter with QRCS to carry out its humanitarian and brotherly role towards Syrians. Al Sada presented the relief efforts QRCS offers, whether through its office in Gaziantep, Turkey or through the relief and medical cadres working inside Syria. He also confirmed QRCS' pride in its relations with the Turkish Red Crescent and its keenness to continue in aim to achieve joint humanitarian goals. He highlighted the many achievements done by QRCS in relieving the refugees and evacuees in different aspects especially shelter, water, sanitation and health. On their part, the Turkish delegation presented a detailed brief on the tough humanitarian situation which are experienced by Syrian citizens and refugees in the area on the Syrian-Turkish border and affected by the war in their country. The Qatari Red Crescent spares no effort to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Syrian people, which received the biggest share of the total assistance and humanitarian activities carried out during 2017, with a total volume of approximately USD 19 million, equivalent to QR 70 million.
