QU Opens Humanitarian and Social Sciences Center

Doha, September 16 (QNA) - College of Arts and Sciences at Qatar University (QU) has inaugurated the Humanitarian and Social Sciences Center and launched the sustainable development book. Qatar University President Dr Sheikha Al Misnad affirmed that the QU always seeks to provide communication opportunities and constructive dialogue on various research topics according to orientation of Qatar university towards achieving research excellence and meeting needs of the community. Meanwhile , Dr Iman Mostafavi, Dean of the College of Art and Science at QU said that the establishment of the Humanitarian and Social Sciences Center is considered as a consolidation of the QU pioneering role in supporting capabilities and research efforts in the region and creating a new generation of researchers in order to promote humanitarian and social researches in the State of Qatar. The inauguration ceremony was attended by QU President Dr. Sheikha Al Missned, QU Vice-President for Academic Affairs Dr. Mazen Hasna,QU Vice-President for research affairs Dr. Hassan al-Dirham , Dean of the College of Art and Science Dr. Iman Mostafavi, Professor Paul Sillitoe, Anthropology Department at Durham University, UK and a number of QU staff and researchers from some educational institutions.(QNA)
