QU to Orient Early Conditional Admits for Fall 2016

Doha, May 03 (QNA) - Qatar University (QU) Admissions Department will hold an orientation event on May 7 for early conditional admits for Fall 2016. The event follows the recent decisions by the department on the early conditional admission of 377 students who satisfied the minimum requirements for undergraduate admission out of a total of 487 applicants. The Department also noted that all students who were successful in their early conditional application were admitted into their college of first preference, and that eight of the nine colleges have accepted early conditional admits for the next academic year. Department director Nouf Al Kuwari stressed however that Early Conditional Admission is provisional admission pending successful completion of the final year of high school and fulfillment of all admission requirements. She said further that applicants who did not satisfy the requirements in their application for Early Conditional Admission will also be considered for regular first-year admission in July 12, 2016. During the event, students will have the opportunity to register in their respective programs and receive information about the university, its policies, services, facilities and resources as well as extra-curricular and other student-related activities. "Our early conditional admissions initiative allows students who are still enrolled in their final year of high school and who have earned outstanding grades in 11th grade and the first semester of 12th grade, to make early application to QU upon fulfilling the necessary academic requirements and the Qatari parent rule", Al Kuwari said. She noted that one of the key benefits for early conditional admits attending the orientation event is that they will have a full selection of courses to choose from, so affording them the opportunity to register for all their Fall semester classes at that time. Al Kuwari noted further that the Department is still accepting regular undergraduate admission applications for Fall 2016 and encouraged applications from prospective students who did not apply under the Early Conditional Admissions initiative, saying, "We look forward to receiving your applications and final/official high school results before the deadline of July 14."
