Quranic exhibition hosted by San Francisco Library

TEHRAN, Feb. 07 (MNA) – A Quranic exhibition is being held in a public library in San Francisco in California. Islamic art and Quranic verses is a central theme of the exhibition ‘Arabic: Language of the Quran’ in San Francisco which seeks to raise awareness among different cultures about the Holy Quran. The exhibition displays more than 50 works by contemporary artists of San Francisco, northern states of the US, and the Middle East whose works reflect Quranic verses in painting, ceramic works, glassblowing, textile, photography, digital art and artistic media. The exhibition is held by a local NGO, Islamic Art Exhibit Fund, which works to bridge the gaps between diverse communities using visual arts. Since Islamic arts are often neglected by popular galleries in the market, the group has launched Islamic exhibitions in public places to make for the pitfall. Exhibition is open and welcomes public visits until March 20. San Francisco Library will also host an Islamic calligraphy exhibition beginning March 14 where calligraphic art by an Iranian artist Arash Shirinyab will be displayed.
